What is Error code 963 Google Play Store?

Error code 963 Google Play Store is an error that usually occurs when downloading an application store on a corrupt storage device. This commonly occurs when using a defective SD card.

How can you fix Error code 963 Google Play Store?

Some of the solutions to this error include remounting the SD card, clearing the data and cache of the application, clearing the cache of Google Play Store, restoring your device to its factory settings.

1. Remount SD Card

NOTE: Please disregard this solution if you do not have an SD card installed.

Check if the application is stored on your SD card. Your SD card may have been miscommunicating with the device, causing "error code 963 Google Pla Store." Unmounting the SD card and remounting it may fix the error. Please see below.

  1. Go to Settings > Storage.
  2. Click Unmount the SD card.
  3. Then download or update your application.
  4. If no error was encountered, mount the SD card again.

  1. If the capacity of the SD card is far from its original capacity.
  2. If you could not format it.
  3. If file transfer between your phone and SD card is so slow.

2. Clear the data and cache of the application

  1. Go to Setting > Apps.
  2. Look for the application with an error and then click it.
  3. Then click Storage and then click Clear data and Clear Cache.
  4. Try to update your application again.

3. Clear the cache of Google Play store

If “error code 963 Google Play Store” appears in all your applications, your Google Play Store may have a corrupt data in it. To solve the problem you could reupdate it by clearing the cache and data. Please see below

  1. First, disable the device WiFi.

  2. Then go to Settings and then Application, Installed app, or Manage apps, depending on your device model

  3. Tap the Google Play Store and Google Play Services.The image below is an Asus Zenphone, other Android devices have a different user interface.

  4. Tap the Force to stop or Disable.

  5. Tap Clear Cache and Clear Data.

  6. Restart the Android device.

Now go back to the home page of your Android device, enable the WiFi and open the Google Play Store. Google Play Store should download and install the updates. When the update is complete, download the application and see if “error code 963 Google Play Store” still appears.

4. Restore device to factory settings

If none of the previous solutions work and "error code 963 Google Play Store" persists, try restoring your device to its factory setting. Restoring your phone to factory settings will return all settings to default. It will also delete all the applications and reinstall them again. Restoring to default may remove any bugs and errors.
