iPhone error code 4013 is a common bug and occurs during a restore or update through iTunes that prevents the update or restore from happening. It could be due to a defective USB cable, port or poor WIFI connection. You may see the error message, "The iPhone [device name] could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (4013)."

1. Test USB port and USB cable

Probably, your connection between iPhone and your computer might be causing the problem "iPhone error 4013." You might want to test your USB cable and ports.

  1. Remove all USB connected device except for the keyboard and mouse.
  2. Log in as an Administrator.
  3. Update iTunes to the latest version.
