1. Restart your computer and try again

  3. Click on the “Check for updates” button.
  4. If there are any updates available, the Windows Update window will list them.
  5. Click on the “Install updates” button.
  6. The updates will be downloaded and installed.
  7. If there are any errors, the Windows Update window will tell you about them.
  8. After the updates are installed, the “Windows Update” window will be closed.

3. Run the Windows System File Checker tool to scan for and repair corrupted system files

  1. Open the Windows System File Checker tool.
  2. Click on the Scan button.
  3. Select the folders and files you want to scan.
  4. Click on the Fix Errors button.
  5. If the scan is successful, the tool will report the repaired files and the 0x80070005 error.
