How can I fix the Backup Assistant Plus Error Code 36?

The backup assistant plus error code 36 is an error that can occur when trying to back up files or data to an external drive or storage device. This error can be caused by a number of factors, including incorrect permissions, an incompatible file system, or a corrupted file.

1. Check for updates to Backup Assistant Plus and install any available updates

  1. Launch Backup Assistant Plus and click the “Settings” button in the top-right corner of the main screen.
  2. On the “Settings” screen, click the “Updates” button.
  3. On the “Updates” screen, click the “Check for Updates” button.
  4. On the “Check for Updates” screen, click the “Install Updates” button.
  5. On the “Install Updates” screen, click the “Install Updates” button.
  6. On the “Install Updates” screen, click the “Yes” button to install the available updates.
  7. After the updates are installed, click the “Restart” button to restart Backup Assistant Plus.
  8. After the updates are installed, click the “OK” button to close the “Settings” screen.

2. If you are using a custom ROM, check to see if there is an update for your ROM

  1. On your phone, open the "Settings" app.
  2. Scroll down and select "System Updates."
  3. If there is an update for your ROM, you will see a message saying "There is an update available for your ROM." If there is not an update for your ROM, you will see a message saying "No updates available."
  4. Tap on the message that says "There is an update available for your ROM."
  5. If there is an update for your ROM, you will be prompted to download and install it. After the update is installed, you will see the message "Your phone has been updated."
  6. If there is not an update for your ROM, you will be prompted to update your ROM. After the update is installed, you will see the message "Your phone has been updated."

3. Wipe the cache partition of your Android device

  1. On your Android device, open the Settings app.
  2. Tap on Storage.
  3. Tap on Caches.
  4. Tap on Wipe Cache Partition.
  5. Confirm the wipe by tapping on Yes.
  6. When the wipe is complete, tap on Reboot System Now.

4. Try using a different backup method, such as Titanium Backup

  1. Open Titanium Backup and select the backup you want to fix.
  2. On the right side of the window, select the “Options” icon.
  3. Under the “Backup Options” tab, select the “Use a different backup method” option.
  4. Select the backup method you want to use from the list.
  5. Click the “Start” button to start the backup.
  6. If the backup is successful, the “Backup successfully completed” message will appear.
  7. If the backup fails, the “Backup failed” message will appear.
  8. To fix the backup, you will need to fix the error code. To do this, click the “Fix errors” button.
  9. On the “Fix errors” screen, select the “Backup assistant plus” error code from the list.
  10. Click the “Fix errors” button to fix the error.
