There are a few reasons why the error code 72 might occur when trying to update Creative Cloud Desktop. It could be due to a corrupt or damaged installer, or it could be because your computer is not connected to the Internet. If you are connected to the Internet, it could be because the Creative Cloud servers are down or busy.

1. Check your internet connection and try again

  1. Open the Creative Cloud desktop app.
  2. Go to the Help menu and select Check for Updates.
  3. If the Creative Cloud desktop app says your internet connection is not stable enough to update, try to connect to a different network or try again later.
  4. If the Creative Cloud desktop app still says your internet connection is not stable enough to update, try to restart your computer.
  5. If the Creative Cloud desktop app still says your internet connection is not stable enough to update, try to update your Creative Cloud software using the online update tool.

2. Try running the Creative Cloud Desktop Cleaner Tool

Open the Creative Cloud Desktop Cleaner Tool. Click on the Cleaner icon. Select your Creative Cloud desktop from the list. Click on the Start button. Wait for the Desktop Cleaner Tool to finish. If the Desktop Cleaner Tool failed to update your Creative Cloud desktop, then the most likely cause is that you do not have the latest version of the Creative Cloud Desktop Cleaner Tool installed. You can download the latest version of the Desktop Cleaner Tool from the Adobe website.
