Dell Error Code 0411 RTC Battery happens when the RTC (real-time clock) battery inside the computer is failing. This error code can also be caused by a faulty CMOS (complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor) chip. The CMOS chip contains the RTC battery and controls the date and time settings in the computer. When the CMOS chip fails, it can cause the RTC battery to fail as well.

1. Check the status of the RTC battery

  1. Open the "System Configuration" in the Control Panel.
  2. Click "Date and Time."
  3. Check the "Device Status" for the "RTC" item.
  4. If the "Device Status" shows "Error," the battery needs to be replaced.
  5. If the "Device Status" does not show "Error," the battery is likely still functioning and can be used.

2. If the RTC battery is fine, try resetting the BIOS to default settings

Reset BIOS to default settings by following these steps:

  1. Exit the operating system and open the system BIOS.
  2. Select the “Reset” option and press ENTER.
  3. Select the “Default Settings” option and press ENTER.
