How can I fix error 018 on Roku?

Error 018 on Roku indicates that the Roku device is unable to communicate with the router. There can be several reasons for this error:

  1. The Roku and router are not on the same network.

  2. The Roku and router are not using the same wireless band (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz).

  3. The router's firewall is blocking communication with the Roku.

  4. The Roku is too far away from the router.

  5. There is interference on the wireless signal between the Roku and router.

  6. The Roku's wireless connection is weak.

  7. The router is not compatible with the Roku.

  8. The Roku software needs to be updated.

1. Try restarting your Roku device

  1. Open the Roku app on your device.
