The error code 12002 indicates a timeout error. This error code occurs when a request takes longer than the specified time to complete. The time limit may be set by the server, or it may be set by the client.

1. Check your internet connection

  2. On the next page, enter your email address and click Submit.

3. Check the URL you are trying to access

  1. Open Internet Explorer and navigate to the website that you were trying to access when you received the error.
  2. If the website is online, click on the address bar and type in the website's full URL.
  3. If the website is not online, try to find the website's address on a search engine.
  4. Once you have the website's address, type it into Internet Explorer's address bar.
  5. If Internet Explorer still cannot access the website, try to open a new Internet Explorer window and type in the website's address.
  6. If Internet Explorer still cannot access the website, try to open a new Firefox or Chrome window and type in the website's address.
  7. If Firefox or Chrome still cannot access the website, try to open a new Safari window and type in the website's address.
  8. If Safari still cannot access the website, try to open a new Windows Explorer window and type in the website's address.

4. Check your computer's firewall settings

To check your computer's firewall settings, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Start button and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click System and Security.
  3. Under System and Security, click Firewall.
  4. On the Firewall Settings tab, click the Rule Status button.
  5. On the Rule Status screen, review the information and then click the Properties button.
  6. On the Properties screen, review the information and then click the firewall exceptions list.
  7. On the firewall exceptions list, review the information and then click the Add button.
  8. In the Add Firewall Exception dialog box, enter the following information and then click the Add button. Type: Web Browser Protocol: tcp Address: 127.0.0.1 Port: 80
  9. In the Add Firewall Exception dialog box, click the OK button.
  10. On the Rule Status screen, click the OK button.
  11. On the Firewall Settings tab, click the OK button.
  12. On the General tab, click the OK button.

5. Check if the website is down

  1. Check the website’s status on a web browser.
  2. If the website is not responding, try to connect to the website using a different web browser.
  3. If the website is still not responding, try to access the website using an alternate internet connection.
  4. If the website is still not responding, try to contact the website owner or administrator.
