Exit code 1618 is a Windows Installer error code that indicates another installation is already in progress. This can happen if the Windows Installer service is not running or if there is another installation already running that is using the same files.

1. Restart your computer and try installing the program again

  25. If you are using Windows XP, click "Exit."
  26. If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7, click "Yes."
  27. Click "Close."
  28. Restart your computer.
  29. Try installing the program again.

2. Temporarily disable your antivirus software and try installing the program again

  1. Open your antivirus software and click on the "Tools" tab.
  2. Select the "Temporarily disable antivirus" option.
  3. Click on the "Disable" button to disable your antivirus software.
  4. Restart your computer.
  5. Install the antivirus software again.
  6. Enter the "exit code 1618" into the "Antivirus software error message" field.
  7. Click on the "Next" button.
  8. Select the "Enable" button to re-enable your antivirus software.
  9. Click on the "Finish" button to restart your computer.

3. If you are using Windows Vista, disable User Account Control and try installing the program again

  1. In the Windows Vista Start Menu, click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click User Accounts and Family Safety.
  3. Under User Accounts, click Change User Account Control Settings.
  4. Under User Account Control Settings, click the Turn User Account Control On or Off link.
  5. If User Account Control is turned off, Under User Account Control Settings, click the Yes, let me enable user account control link.
  6. If User Account Control is turned on, Under User Account Control Settings, click the No, let me disable user account control link.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Try installing the program again.
