Generac error code 1902 is a common error code that can occur when the Generac generator is not properly maintained. This error code typically occurs when the oil level in the generator is low or when the generator is not properly vented.

1. Check the oil level and fill if necessary

  1. Check the oil level and top up if necessary in the engine.
  2. Check the engine oil pressure and top up if necessary.
  3. Check the engine Coolant temperature and top up if necessary.
  4. Check the engine Air Filter and top up if necessary.
  5. Check the engine Electrical System and top up if necessary.
  6. Reset the engine Check Engine Light.

2. Check the air filter and clean or replace if necessary

  1. Disconnect the power to the machine.
  2. Open the hood and remove the air filter.
  3. If the filter is dirty, clean it using a vacuum cleaner and a clean cloth.
  4. Replace the air filter if necessary.
  5. Connect the power to the machine and test it.

3. Check the spark plug and clean or replace if necessary

  1. Check the spark plug - remove the spark plug cap and inspect the electrodes for signs of fouling or damage. If the spark plug is fouled or damaged, it will need to be replaced.
  2. Clean or replace the spark plug as necessary.
  3. Reconnect the spark plug wires to the spark plugs.
  4. Start the engine and check for spark. If there is no spark, the spark plugs may need to be replaced.

4. Check for loose bolts and tighten if necessary

First, locate all of the loose bolts in the machine. Next, use a wrench to tighten each bolt in a specific order so that the machine is stable. Finally, use a voltmeter to test the electrical connection between the engine and the controller. If the voltmeter reads 0 volts, then the electrical connection is good and the loose bolts are the only issue. If the voltmeter reads a voltage, then the electrical connection is not good and the loose bolts need to be fixed.

5. Check the fuel level and add fuel if necessary

  1. Check the fuel level by inserting a fuel gauge into the fuel line. The level should be at least 1/4 tank. If the level is low, add fuel.
  2. If the level is still low, turn the fuel off at the main switch and wait 10 minutes.
  3. Reconnect the fuel line and turn the power back on. The generator should start up. If it does not, check the fuses and replace as needed.
  4. If the generator still does not start, check the fuel pump. It may be clogged with debris. Clear the pump by using a plunger. If the problem still persists, replace the fuel pump.

6. Check for blockages in the exhaust system and clear if necessary

  1. Check for clogs in the exhaust system
  2. Clear any obstructions
  3. Reconnect the exhaust system

Still not working? maybe try one of these options:

  1. Call a qualified technician for further diagnosis and repair.
