There are a few reasons that you might see Google Play error 18. This error can be caused by a problem with your internet connection, your device's date and time being set incorrectly, or the Google Play store being down.

If you're seeing this error, first try restarting your device and checking your internet connection. If that doesn't work, try setting your device's date and time to the current date and time. If the problem persists, it's possible that the Google Play store is down or experiencing technical difficulties.

1. Restart your device and try again

  1. Open the Settings app on your device
  2. Tap on "Settings"
  3. Under "General" tap on "Restart"
  4. Tap on "Restart Now"
  5. After your device has restarted, open Google Play and try again to download the app

2. Clear cache and data of the Google Play Store app

  1. Open the Google Play Store app on your device.
  2. Tap the three lines in the top left corner of the screen.
  3. Tap Clear cache and data.
  4. If prompted, tap OK.
  5. After the Clear cache and data process is complete, tap the three lines in the top left corner of the screen again.
  6. Tap Reload all.

3. Check your date and time settings

  1. Open Google Play on your device.

  3. Choose "Settings."
  4. Under "Date and time," choose your time zone.
  5. Under "Date and time settings," make sure that the date and time are correct.
  6. If they're not, tap the "Set date and time" button and enter the correct date and time.
  7. Tap "Apply" to save your changes.

4. Check your Google Play Store version

Open the Google Play Store on your device. Tap the menu button (three lines down from the top of the screen). Tap Settings. Tap Version. Look for an 18 or higher on the list. If you have a newer version, tap that. If you have an older version, tap Update to update.

5. Check for updates to the Google Play Store app

  1. Open the Google Play Store app on your device
  2. Tap the Menu icon in the top left corner of the screen
  3. Select "Settings"
  4. Under "General," tap "Updates."
  5. Tap the "Check for updates" button to begin the process of downloading and installing any available updates.
  6. If there are any updates available, they will be downloaded and installed. Once the updates have been installed, the "Check for updates" button will change to "Update."
  7. If there are no updates available, the "Check for updates" button will remain unchanged.

6. Uninstall and reinstall the Google Play Store app

  1. Launch the Google Play Store app on your device.
  2. Tap on the Menu button on the top-left corner.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Under App Management, scroll down and select Uninstall.
  5. Tap on the Uninstall button.
  6. Enter your device’s password if prompted.
  7. Tap on the Uninstall button again.
  8. Tap on the Reinstall button.
  9. Tap on the Accept and Reinstall button.
  10. Launch the Google Play Store app on your device.
  11. Tap on the Menu button on the top-left corner.
  12. Select Settings.
  13. Under App Management, scroll down and select Install.
  14. Enter your device’s password if prompted.
  15. Tap on the Install button.
  16. Tap on the Accept and Install button.
  17. If prompted, reboot your device.
