Just Cause 2 Fatal DirectX error code 3 is an error that can be caused by a variety of things. One of the most common causes is a driver issue. Another common cause is a conflict with another program. Sometimes, this error can also be caused by a hardware issue.

1. Update your video card drivers

  1. Go to the NVIDIA or AMD website and download the latest driver for your video card.
  2. Once the driver has downloaded, open the file and install it on your computer.
  3. Once the driver has been installed, go to the Windows 10 Start Menu and search for "NVIDIA Control Panel" or "AMD Catalyst Control Centre".
  4. Once the Control Panel has been found, click on it.
  5. Click on the "Driver" tab.
  6. Click on the "Update Driver" button.
  7. Browse to the location of the latest driver file that has been downloaded and clicked on it.
  8. Click on the "Update Driver" button.
  9. Once the driver has been updated, click on the "OK" button.

2. Make sure you have the latest version of DirectX installed

  1. Go to the official DirectX website at dx.com and download the latest version of DirectX.
  2. Install DirectX according to the instructions provided.
  3. Restart your computer.
  4. If the problem persists, you may need to reinstall DirectX.

3. Try running the game in compatibility mode

  1. Right-click Just Cause 2 in your game library and select Properties.
  2. Click the Compatibility tab.
  3. Check the Run this program in compatibility mode for box and select Run in compatibility mode for Windows XP (Service Pack 3).
  4. Click OK.
  5. Launch Just Cause 2.
