How can I fix LDAP error code 49?

1. Fix the issue with the LDAP server

  1. Verify that the LDAP server is properly configured and working.
  2. Check the LDAP server's configuration file to ensure that all required settings are correct.

  4. Verify that the LDAP server is able to communicate with the LDAP client.
  5. Check the LDAP server's logs to identify any issues.

2. Fix the issue with the LDAP client

  1. Navigate to the LDAP client in the server console.

  4. Under the LDAP Connections tab, ensure that the LDAP connection is successful.
  5. Under the Security tab, ensure that the LDAP connection is using the correct security settings.
  6. Under the Advanced tab, under the BindDN value, ensure that the DN is correct.
  7. Under the Attributes tab, ensure that the attributes are correct.
  8. Under the Search tab, ensure that the search is correct.
  9. Under the Results tab, ensure that the results are correct.

3. Update the LDAP server

  1. Log in to the LDAP server as the root user
  2. Update the LDAP server using the following command: sudo apt-get update
  3. Update the LDAP server using the following command: sudo apt-get upgrade
  4. If the LDAP server is running on a Debian or Ubuntu system, you may need to install the libnss-ldap library: sudo apt-get install libnss-ldap
  5. If the LDAP server is running on a Microsoft Windows system, you may need to install the Microsoft LDAP SDK: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

4. Update the LDAP client

  1. Open the LDAP client and connect to the LDAP server.
  2. Click on the Tools menu and select LDAP Settings.
  3. In the LDAP Settings dialog box, click on the Servers tab.
  4. In the Server list, select the LDAP server from which you want to update the client.
  5. In the Base DN field, type the base DN of the domain controller that you want to use to search the LDAP directory.
  6. In the Search Base field, type the search base for the domain.
  7. In the Filter field, type the search filter that you want to use.
  8. In the User DN field, type the user DN of the user that you want to modify.
  9. In the Password field, type the password of the user that you want to modify.
  10. In the Attributes tab, click on the Update button.
  11. In the LDAP Update dialog box, click on the OK button.
  12. Close the LDAP client.
