1. Restart your computer and run Malwarebytes again

  1. Restart your computer.
  2. Click “Start”, type “cmd” into the search bar, and press Enter.
  3. At the command prompt, type “net stop Malwarebytes”, and press Enter.
  4. Type “net start Malwarebytes”, and press Enter.
  5. At the Malwarebytes login screen, enter your Malwarebytes Administrator password, and press Enter.
  6. Click “Restart Malwarebytes”, and press Enter.

  15. After your computer starts scanning, click “Close”, and press Enter.
  16. Click “Malwarebytes Report”, and press Enter.
  17. At the Malwarebytes report prompt, click “Yes”, and press Enter.
  18. After your computer completes reporting, click “Close”, and press Enter.

2. Uninstall and reinstall Malwarebytes

  1. Start Malwarebytes and click on the Uninstall button.
  2. When the Uninstall window pops up, click on the Yes button.
  3. On the Uninstall window, you will be asked to select the programs that Malwarebytes should remove. Select the Malwarebytes program and click on the Remove button.
  4. When the Uninstall window closes, Malwarebytes will ask you to restart your computer. Do so and then launch Malwarebytes again.
  5. On the main screen, click on the Scan button.
  6. When the Scan window opens, click on the Start Scan button.
  7. Malwarebytes will scan your computer for malware and fix any issues that it finds. Please be patient as this process can take a few minutes.
  8. When the scan is complete, click on the Reports button to view the results.
