1. Restart the computer

  1. Restart your computer.
  2. If your computer starts up successfully, press F8 to open the Advanced Boot Options menu.
  3. Use the arrow keys to highlight the Safe Mode with Networking option and press ENTER.
  4. Use the arrow keys to select the option to start in Safe Mode with Networking and press ENTER.
  5. Use the arrow keys to select the option to install the latest driver for your network adapter and press ENTER.

  9. Use the arrow keys to select the option to start in Safe Mode with Command Prompt and press ENTER.
  10. At the Command Prompt, type bcdedit /set {current} safebootnetworking on and press ENTER.

2. Check for updates

  1. Launch Windows Update.
  2. Search for updates and install any that are recommended.
  3. Check for updates again and install any that have been updated.
  4. If there are any more updates, install them.
  5. Restart your computer.

3. Run a virus scan

  1. Open your antivirus software and select the "Scan" tab.
  2. Select the "Scan for viruses" option.
  3. Select the type of scan you would like to run.
  4. Click the "Start" button to begin the scan.
  5. When the scan is complete, click the "Finish" button to close the antivirus software.
  6. If there are any viruses found, follow the instructions provided by your antivirus software to remove them.
