Roku error code 005 is an error that can occur when trying to update the software on your Roku device. This error can happen for a variety of reasons, but most commonly it is caused by a corrupted update file. It is also possible that your Roku device is not compatible with the new software update. 1. Restart your Roku device

  1. First, make sure you are connected to the internet.
  2. Next, press the power button on your Roku device.
  3. Hold down the select button on your Roku device for about 10 seconds.
  4. Once the Roku device has restarted, release the select button.
  5. Now press the power button on your Roku device again.
  6. Hold down the reset button on your Roku device for about 10 seconds.
  7. Once the Roku device has restarted, release the reset button.
  8. Now press the power button on your Roku device again.
  9. Hold down the OK button on your Roku device for about 10 seconds.

2. Check your internet connection

  1. Open the Roku app and sign in.

  6. On the Fix Connection screen, enter your internet provider’s login information, select the OK button, and then select the Test Internet Connection button.
  7. If your internet connection is not active or your Roku is not connected to the same network as your device, Roku will guide you through the steps necessary to connect to the internet and fix the connection.

3. Check for updates

Navigate to the "Settings" menu on your Roku device. Under "System" select "Updates." Select "Check for Updates." If an update is available, it will be displayed and you will need to select "Install." Once the update is installed, your Roku should restart.

4. Try a different Roku channel

  1. Navigate to the Roku home screen and select the "Channels" icon.
  2. Select the "My Channels" tab and scroll to the bottom of the list.
  3. Select the "Try a Different Channel" button and choose a different Roku channel from the list.
  4. If the Roku channel you selected is not working, try another channel from the list or search for a specific title or show.
  5. If the Roku channel you selected is working, select it and click the "OK" button.
