How do I fix the TiVo Error Code 502?

There are a few different causes for the TiVo Error Code 502, most of which are related to the network connection. One common reason is that the network is down or there is an issue with the TiVo's IP address. Another possibility is that the router is not configured correctly or is not compatible with the TiVo. Additionally, this error can occur if the firewall is blocking the TiVo's connection. Finally, it could be that the TiVo is not properly authorized to access the network.

If you see the TiVo Error Code 502, it is generally recommended to restart the TiVo and try again. If that does not work, you can try manually setting the IP address. If the issue persists, you may need to contact your ISP or router manufacturer for assistance.

1. Restart the TiVo box

To restart the TiVo box, power off the TiVo box and then power on the TiVo box. Wait until the TiVo box goes through the startup sequence and then press the MENU button. Use the cursor to select "Settings" and then use the cursor to select "System". Use the cursor to select "Restart", and then press the ENTER button. Use the cursor to select "Yes" and then press the ENTER button. After the TiVo box has restarted, use the cursor to select "TiVo Service" and then use the cursor to select "Restart". Use the cursor to select "Yes" and then press the ENTER button.

2. Check all connections to make sure they are secure

1.Open the TiVo Desktop and click on the TiVo icon. 2.Select the Settings tab. 3.Select Network. 4.Check the Security Status for all connections and make sure they are secure. 5.If necessary, change the security settings for each connection. 6.Click on the OK button to save your changes.

3. Check for updates for the TiVo software

  1. Open the TiVo software.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select System.
  4. Select Check for Updates.
  5. If there are any updates available, they will be displayed.
  6. If there are any updates available, select Install.
  7. The updates will be installed.
