1. Restart your computer

4. Run the DISM tool

  1. Open an elevated command prompt
  2. Change to the directory where the DISM tool is located
  3. Type Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
  4. If the tool finds any problems, it will display a message and offer to fix them. Click OK to proceed with the fix.
  5. If the tool finds no problems, it will report that the operation was successful and offer to exit. Click OK to exit the tool.

5. Reset your PC

  1. If the PC is turned on, press and hold the power button until it turns off.
  2. Wait 30 seconds and turn on the PC.
  3. Press and hold the volume-down button and the power button at the same time.
  4. Release the power button and the volume-down button when the reset screen appears.
  5. Press the Enter key.
  6. If prompted to insert a Windows installation disc, do so.
  7. When the PC finishes resetting, sign in with your Microsoft account.
  8. Check for and install any updates.
  9. Check for and remove any malware.
