The F3 code on a GE oven indicates that the oven sensor is not working correctly. This error code can happen for a number of reasons, including a loose wire connection or a faulty sensor. If the oven sensor is not working correctly, the oven may not be able to reach the correct temperature, which can cause the food to be overcooked or burned.

1. Check the power supply to the oven

  1. Check the power supply to the oven by plugging it into an outlet and turning it on.
  2. If the oven works, the power supply is probably fine. If the oven doesn’t work, the power supply may be defective.
  3. If the power supply is fine, the next step is to check the wiring to the oven.
  4. If the wiring is fine, the problem may be with the oven itself. In that case, the oven may need to be replaced.

2. Check the bake element for continuity

-Check the bake element continuity by turning the element by hand -If continuity is not found, replace the bake element

3. Check the broil element for continuity

-Remove the cover of the oven. -Check the element for continuity by touching it with a screwdriver or another object. If there is no continuity, the element will need to be replaced. -Replace the element if necessary.

4. Check the oven thermostat for proper operation

  1. Check the oven temperature by inserting a thermometer into the oven cavity.
  2. If the oven temperature is within the safe range, close the oven door.
  3. Check the oven thermostat by opening the oven door and turning the thermostat to the “off” position.
  4. If the oven thermostat is not working properly, replace it.

Still not working? maybe try one of these options:

  1. Check the wiring harnesses for the bake and broil elements.
  2. Check the control board for proper operation.
