1. Check the wire harnesses for the oven temperature sensor and the oven door lock assembly

  1. Turn off the power to the oven.
  2. Remove the oven door by pulling it towards you.
  3. Disconnect the wire harnesses for the oven temperature sensor and the oven door lock assembly.
  4. Inspect the wires for damage. If any wires are damaged, replace them with new ones.
  5. Reconnect the wire harnesses for the oven temperature sensor and the oven door lock assembly.
  6. Turn on the power to the oven and test the oven temperature sensor and the oven door lock assembly.

2. Replace the oven temperature sensor

To replace the oven temperature sensor on a KitchenAid oven, open the oven door, remove the oven racks and screws that hold them in place, and then remove the oven door. Next, unplug the oven and remove the front panel. On the oven sensor, remove the two screws that hold it in place and then remove the sensor. Clean the sensor and replace it with the new one. Replace the front panel, screws and oven racks. Plug in the oven and reattach the front panel.

3. Replace the oven door lock assembly

  1. Remove the oven door by removing the two screws that hold it in place.
  2. Open the door so that it is in the open position.
  3. Remove the two screws that hold the oven door lock assembly in place.
  4. Lift the oven door lock assembly out of the oven.
  5. Replace the old oven door lock assembly with a new one.
  6. Replace the two screws that hold the oven door lock assembly in place.
  7. Close the oven door and re-install the two screws that hold it in place.
