PS4 error message ce-30005-8 is an error that usually occurs while accessing the Hard Disk Drive (HDD) or Blu-ray/ DVD Drive. It is likely that your console is having problems reading from the HDD or Blu-ray player.

How can you fix PS4 error message ce-30005-8?

1. Test your Optical Disk Drive

PS4 error message CE-30005-8 may occur when your Blu-ray optical disk drive is damaged or the Blu-ray optical disk drive is reading a damaged or dusty disc. To determine what caused the error, you may want to try other discs. If all of your discs are resulting in CE-30005-8, your Blu-ray optical disk drive may have a defect. If so, please bring your PS4 to a service center for warranty or repair.

However, if the error only appears with certain discs, you may want to clean it. Use a soft cloth with an isopropyl alcohol, so it will dry quickly instead of water. If your disc has a deep scratch or damage, it is not fixable but try to clean it. Please see below.

  1. Rub your disc using the soft cloth with a little isopropyl alcohol.
  2. Air dry it up for at least five seconds in a non-dusty area.
  3. Then, try to use your disc.

2. Test your Hard Disk Drive

  1. Remove the hard disk drive from the PlayStation 4.
  2. Connect the PlayStation 4 hard disk drive to a desktop computer.

If you found any defect in your hard disk drive, please bring your PlayStation to the nearest service center. If your PS4 is out of warranty, you may have to buy a new hard disk drive.

If the hard disk drive is still in good condition, proceed to the next solution.

3. Reinstall the game

If the HDD is tested good, using Solution 2 and PS4 error message CE-30005-8 persists, it may be caused by the game file. The game file might be corrupt or something is missing. Try deleting the downloadable content and mods first and see if it work. If it does not, reinstall the game.
