1. Disable Proxy

Socket error 10060 may be caused by a proxy server. The proxy server you are using may be interfering with your internet access. In addition, the IP of your proxy server could be blocked. You may want to disable it temporarily to avoid the error.

Option 1. Disable Use a proxy server for your LAN

    1. Click Windows Start, then type in Internet Options and then press Enter.

    2. In the Internet Properties window, click Connections tab.

    3. Then click LAN settings.

    4. Uncheck "Use a proxy server for your LAN."

    5. Then, press OK and restart your computer.

    6. Check if the error still occurs.

Option 2. Edit Registry to Disable Proxy

    1. Click Windows Start and type in Regedit.

    2. Right-click Regedit and select Run as admin.

    3. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER \Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ Current Version \ Internet Settings.

    4. In the Internet Setting Folder, look for ProxyEnable.

    5. Right-click ProxyEnable, select Modify.

    6. Change the Value to 0 and then click Ok.

    7. Restart your computer.

    8. Check if the error still occurs.
