What is Android error code 491?

Android error code 491 is an error that usually occurs when downloading an app from the Play Store. It means that the download or update is not available at the moment.

How can you fix Android error code 491?

Some of the solutions to this error include clearing the Google Play Store cache, synchronizing your Google account, installing Google+, and restoring your device to factory settings.

1. Clear Google Play Store cache

Google Play Store cache may be causing the Android error code 491. Turning your device off for at least three minutes allows it to clear the cache. Then, run Google Play store to see if you could download or update an application. If not, try the instruction below on how to delete Google Play Store or watch it here on YouTube.

  1. Disconnect from the internet.

  2. Go to Settings.

  3. Look for Application.

  4. Look for Google Play Store and press Disable/Force to stop.

  5. Press Clear Data.

  6. Now, back to Application look for Google Play Services.

  7. Go Storage and press Clear cache.

  8. Then press Manage storage, then press Clear All Data.
    NOTE: Your Android device may have a different user interface.

  9. Restart the device.

  10. Now reconnect to your internet connection.

  11. Run Google Play Store accept the terms.

  12. Then download the apps you want to install.

2. Synchronize Google account

Your Google account may have been desynchronized with Google Play Store causing Android error code 491. Please log into your account so it will resynchronize with Google Play Store.

  1. Go to Setting.
    NOTE: Your Android device may have different user interface.

  2. Press Account.

  3. Press Google.

  4. Remove all Google Accounts.

  5. Add new Google account.

  6. Restart the device.

  7. Run Google Play Store.

  8. Then download the apps you want to install.

3. Install Google+

Android error code 491 may also occur when your android device has a missing Google+ application. Since you could not download from Google Play Store, download it from a third-party source. After the download, enable Unknown sources then install Google + .apk

  1. Go to Setting.
  2. Tap Security.
  3. Turn on Unknown sources.

4. Reset device to Factory Setting

IIf none of the previous solutions worked, your android setting may be the problem. Restoring your Android device to factory setting will return all settings to default, and any misconfiguration or bug will also be eliminated.

  1. Go to Setting.

  2. Look for Back& Reset and press it.

  3. Press Factory data reset.

  4. Press Reset the device and then enter the password.

  5. Wait for your device to finish the restoration process.

  6. Run Google Play Store and accept the terms.

  7. Then download the apps you want to install.
