Error code 8072 is a problem with the Mac OS X software application. This error code happens when the application cannot be found or is not installed properly. There are many possible reasons for this error code, including an incorrect installation path or an outdated version of the application.

1. Restart your computer

3. Check for updates to your software

  1. In Windows 10, 8.1, 8, and 7, open the Start menu.
  2. In the search box, type "update."
  3. In the results list, click "Windows Update."
  4. In the Windows Update window, click "Check for updates."
  5. In the Check for updates window, select "See all updates."
  6. In the Available Updates list, select "Windows Updates."
  7. In the Windows Updates window, click "Install updates."
  8. In the Install updates window, select the updates for your computer.

4. Run a virus scan

  1. Open the System Properties dialog box.
  2. Click the Security tab.
  3. In the Security Options area, click the Virus Scan tab.
  4. In the Virus Scan Options area, select the Scan for viruses option.
  5. Click the Scan button.
  6. If the scan is successful, the Results dialog box will list the virus scan results. If the scan is not successful, the Results dialog box will list the error code that was encountered.

5. Run a malware scan

  1. Open Malwarebytes and click the "Scan" button.
  2. On the "Scan Type" tab, select "Threat Scan."
  3. Click the "Start" button.
  4. Malwarebytes will scan your computer for malware. This may take a few minutes.
  5. When the scan is complete, you will be presented with a screen showing the malware that Malwarebytes detected. If there was any malware detected, you will be given the option to remove it.
  6. Click the "Remove Selected" button.
  7. Click the "Finish" button.
  8. Click the "Close" button.

6. Delete temporary files

  1. Open Windows Explorer.
  2. Navigate to the folder where the error occurred.
  3. Locate the file with the error code.
  4. Right-click on the file and select Delete.
  5. Click OK to confirm the deletion.
