Solution 1. Enable Labs

“Gmail error code 76997” may be a result of all Labs being disabled. Try to enable one to fix the problem. To enable Labs, check instructions below.

  1. Open your Gmail account.

  4. Then, click the Labs tab.
  5. Enable an Available Labs.
  6. Then, click Save changes to confirm.

Solution 2. Clear Browser Cache Data

“Gmail error code 76997” may also be caused by stored Gmail cache in your browser, which is interrupting your operation. Try to clear your browser cache and restart your browser. See instruction below how to delete caches.

Click CTRL+Shift+Del key to access the Clear Browsing Date, this is applicable to all browser.  Delete all browsing data to avoid cache problem.
