Youtube error code 4 is a "playback error." This error code typically occurs when the video you're trying to watch is no longer available, or when there is a problem with your internet connection.

1. Check your internet connection

  1. Open your internet browser and go to youtube.com.
  2. Click on the three lines in the top left corner of the screen.
  3. Click on "Settings."
  4. Under "General," click on "Connection."
  5. In the "Connection Status" column, click on the "Check" button.
  6. If the "Check" button is blue, your internet connection is good. If the "Check" button is red, your internet connection is not good.
  7. If the "Check" button is red, click on the "Reset" button.
  8. If the "Reset" button is blue, your internet connection is good. If the "Reset" button is red, your internet connection is not good.
  9. If the "Reset" button is red, click on the "Close" button.
  10. If the "Close" button is blue, your internet connection is good.

2. Try another browser

To try another browser, follow these steps:

  1. Open your browser and go to youtube.com.
  2. On the homepage, click the three lines in the top left corner of the screen.
  3. On the "Settings" page, click the "Advanced" button.
  4. On the "Advanced" page, click the "Troubleshooting" tab.
  5. Under "Browser problems," click "Try another browser."
  6. In the "Select a browser" window, select a different browser from the list.
  7. Click "OK."
  8. If the problem is still present, repeat steps 5-7.

3. Try another device

The steps to try another device to fix youtube error code 4 are as follows: -Open YouTube on your computer. -Click on the three lines in the top left corner of the main screen. -Select "Settings." -Click on "General." -Select "Device." -Select "Use another device." -If the device you are using is not listed, try using a different browser. -If the device you are using is listed, select it and click on "Use this device." -Click on "OK." -YouTube will open on the device you selected. -If the device you are using has a microphone, you will be prompted to speak into it. -If the device you are using does not have a microphone, YouTube will play video on the device, but it will not be synchronized with the audio on the computer.

4. Clear your browser's cookies and cache

  1. Open your browser and navigate to youtube.com.
  2. On the main page, click on the gear icon in the top left corner of the screen.
  3. Under "Settings," click on "History."
  4. On the History page, click on the "Clear Cookies and Cache" button.
  5. Click on the "Clear Cookies and Cache" button again in the bottom right corner of the History page.
  6. Click on the "Back" button in your browser to return to the YouTube homepage.

  1. Try reloading the page.
  2. Check if YouTube is down.
  3. Reset your browser.
  4. Update your browser.
  5. Install the latest Adobe Flash Player.
  6. Try watching the video in 720p or 1080p.
