“Spotify error code 6” is an error that usually occurs when you try to use the Spotify application. When the error occurs, the application usually crashes and shuts itself down after a few seconds. Solution 1. Uninstall Spotify then Run Windows Clean Boot

“Spotify error code 6” may be caused by corrupt files. If this error occurs, the only solution is to uninstall and reinstall the application again. However, reinstalling the Spotify is not that easy because Spotify leaves temporary files, caches, and remnants files. It may result in a new error, “Spotify error code 18”, when reinstalling Spotify.  To fix this you need to follow the instructions below.

  1. Go to the Control Panel.
  2. Go to Uninstall a program.
  3. Uninstall Spotify.
  4. Then, navigate to C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Roaming.
  5. Delete all files inside it.
  6. Delete all file that is related to Spotify or with name/ description of Spotify.
  7. Then, disable all third-party software via Clean Boot.

  8. After the restart, download Spotify again.
  9. Install.

Solution 2. Reinstall Spotify in Mac

“Spotify error code 6” may be caused by corrupt files. If this error occurs in Mac, the only solution is to reinstall Spotify. See the steps below on how to.

  1. Open Spotify in the menu bar then clicks “Leave Spotify.”
  2. Open Finder then click Go and Library.
    Open Caches.
  3. Delete all files related to Spotify.
  4. Then, open Application Support.
  5. Delete all files related to Spotify.
  6. Restart Mac.
  7. Download a new installer.
  8. Install Spotify.
