How to fix Microsoft Edge 404 Error?

The Microsoft Edge 404 error code is a browser error that indicates that the page you are trying to access cannot be found. There can be several reasons why this error code occurs, but the most common reason is that the page you are trying to access has been moved or deleted. This error code can also occur if there is a problem with the website's server.

Some common troubleshooting steps include:

  1. Restart your computer and check for updates
  2. Try running Microsoft Edge in Windows 10 Compatibility Mode
  3. Reset Microsoft Edge
  4. Turn off any ad-blocking or pop-up blocking software
  5. Disable any security software

1. Clear cache

"Microsoft Edge 404 error is a Page not Found" could be caused by a bad cache. To fix it, you may want to clear your Microsoft Edge browser cache.

  1. Open Microsoft Edge, click the three dots at the upper right side.
  2. Then click settings.
  3. Look and click Choose what to clear.
  4. Check all checkbox then click clear.
  5. Close your Microsoft Edge using Task manager or restart your computer.
  6. Then try again.

2. Add the website to Trusted Site

If "Microsoft Edge 404 error is a Page not Found" appears only on a specific site, it could be blocked. You may want to add it to your trusted site. Also, the site might be spelled incorrect, you may want to double check it.

  1. Press Windows key + R key to and type inetcpl.cpl and press enter.
  2. A window named Internet Properties will appear, then click Security Tab.
  3. Then click Sites.
  4. Add the site to the Add this website to the zone textbox and then click Add.
  5. Then click Close and click OK.
  6. Try it again.
