Also, if you still have a copper line subscription, you may want to upgrade it to fiber optic.

Guide for Setting IP address

The first thing to do is to go to Setting ==> Setting and Connection Status List, right down the current IP address, Subnet mask and Default router/Gateway address. Then, for the DNS call your ISP or use Google public DNS server which is 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.

Now to set PS3 IP address and DNS server to manual/ static.

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Go to Internet Connection Setting.
  3. Select Custom.
  4. Select from the Wired connection (Ethernet Cable) and the Wireless (WiFi), whichever you are using.
  5. Select Auto-Detect.
  6. In IP address Setting, select Manual.
  7. Input your IP address, Subnet mask, Default router (gateway), Primary and Secondary DNS.
  8. MTU set to Automatic.
  9. Proxy server select Do Not Use.
  10. UPnP set to Enable.

Then access your router using your computer.

  1. Open a browser and type in the address bar the gateway address in the list.
  2. Enter the username password. Check the default password from the internet if you have not change it yet.
  3. Look for DMZ mode. Commonly located in Application and games tab.
  4. In the Destination, input your PS3 IP Address.
  5. Then, save the settings.
