Solution 1. Manually Install Internet Explorer

Windows update error 9c57 may be caused by outdated, missing or corrupt Internet Explorer. Download and install Internet Explorer using this link site https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/internet-explorer.aspx. If you have an old version of Internet Explorer installed, please uninstall it.

It is recommendable to install IE in Clean boot mode, so any third-party program will not interrupt the installation process. To access Clean boot, please see the video below.

Solution 2. Delete SoftwareDistribution and run DISM command with sfc /scannow command

If Windows update error 9c57 persists, even if you have successfully installed Internet Explorer could be caused by the SoftwareDistribution files. You may want to reset the download deleting the SoftwareDistribution folder and then run System file check (SFC) for error.
