How to fix common Xbox errors?

There are a variety of common Xbox errors, and each error code indicates a different problem. Some common error codes include:

  • E74: This error code indicates that there is a problem with the AV cable. Make sure that the cable is properly plugged in and check for any damage.
  • E79: This error code indicates that there is a problem with the hard drive. Try unplugging and then replugging in the hard drive, or try a different hard drive.
  • E80: This error code indicates that there is a problem with the network connection. Try restarting the router or modem, or check for any loose cables.
  • E81: This error code indicates that the Xbox is not receiving power. Make sure that the power cord is properly plugged in and check the outlet for power.
  • E82: This error code indicates that there is a problem with the USB ports. Try unplugging and then replugging in the USB device, or try a different USB port.

1. Xbox won't turn on

If your Xbox One console won’t turn on, first check the power supply to make sure it’s firmly connected to the console in order to fix common xbox errors. If the power supply is properly connected and the console still won’t turn on, try the following:

  1. Try plugging in an external power supply.
  2. Try flipping the power switch on the console.
  3. Try pressing the reset button on the console.
  4. Try restarting the console.
  5. Try unplugging and replugging the power cord in the console.
  6. If none of these methods work, try troubleshooting the Xbox One console using the Microsoft Support website.

2. Make sure the outlet has power

To fix common Xbox errors, turn on your Xbox One by pressing the Xbox button on the controller, then turning on the power to the console. If your Xbox One is connected to an outlet that’s controlled by a wall switch, make sure the switch is turned on in order to fix common Xbox errors.

3. Adequate and functional power supply

If you have an Xbox One X or Xbox One S, make sure the power supply is rated for the correct console.

If you don't know which power supply you need then try these steps:

  1. Go to xbox.com/support and sign in.
  2. Under "My Games and Apps" on the left, select "System."
  3. Under "System Information" on the right, select "Power."
  4. Under "Power Consumption" on the right, select "See your power supply's wattage rating."
  5. If your power supply is rated for an Xbox One X or Xbox One S, it will have a wattage rating in the 500-600W range.
  6. If your power supply is not rated for an Xbox One X or Xbox One S, it will have a wattage rating in the 300-500W range.
  7. If your power supply is rated for an Xbox One X or Xbox One S, you will need to purchase a power supply rated for an Xbox One X or Xbox One S.
  8. If your power supply is not rated for an Xbox One X or Xbox One S, you will need to purchase a power supply rated for a Xbox One or Xbox One S.
