DLNA Protocol Error 7531 (PS3)

DLNA Protocol Error 7531 is an error that usually occurs when streaming content from a Western Digital (WD) network drive to PS3.  It is a media connection server error that may occur when streaming or connecting the console to the server. The error may be due to an intermittent connection while streaming content from the WD network to your PS3.

The error may also be related to the Media Server. Your computer might be trying to share media through your default settings.

Solution 1. Disable Media Server Connection

“PS3 error 7531” occur when connecting to the Media Server has a problem. However, if you are not using Media Server Connection, you could disable it by following the steps below.

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Then go to Network Settings.
  3. Scroll down, and select Media Server Connection
  4. Disable Media Server Connection.

Solution 2. Check Network Settings

“PS3 error 7531” occur when connecting to the Media Server has a problem. This error may be due to your network settings. Your PS3 and the media device modem router is not the same. Connected them both on a single modem router so they could communicate properly.
