Solution 1. Use RM Command to remove a file

“Error code 43 Mac” may occur when the file you are attempting to delete may be in use or is protected. You could force delete it using the MAC terminal and use the RM command. Please see below. 

  1. Browse to Utilities by expanding the Go tab.

  2. Double click the Termanal to run it.
  3. In the Terminal, type in “rm”(space) and then drag and drop the file inside the Terminal.
    This will automatically input the address of the file.
  4. Press Enter to perform the RM command.
  5. Check if the file was removed and the “Error code 43 Mac” disappear.

Solution 2. Use Dot_clean Command

“Error code 43 Mac” may also occur if you are transferring a file that came from Windows, which is sometimes not recognized by MAC. You may use the terminal command Dot_clean for converting the file that MAC could read.

  1. Browse to Utilities by expanding the Go tab.

  3. In the Terminal, type in “dot_clean”(space) and then drag and drop the file inside the Terminal.
    This will automatically input the address of the file.
  4. Press Enter to perform the dot_clean command.

Solution 3. Unlock Folder 

“Error code 43 Mac” may also occur when the files you are attempting to delete or transfer are locked, and you could not do any change on that file. If you are the owner of the file or your account is an administrator, you could change its setting and unlock the folder. Please see below.

  1. Right-click the files then select the Get Info.

  3. Change your account to Read & Write to have access to the file.
  4. Try to delete the files if “Error code 43 Mac” is fixed.

Solution 4. Use Disk Utility

“Error code 43 Mac” may also occur if your storage device is faulty, which causes the file to be corrupt and does not let you do any changes on it. Please test your storage device using disk utility.

  1. Browse to Utilities by expanding the Go tab.

  2. Open Disk Utility.
  3. Click the Verify Disk Tab to test the disk drive for any problem that may cause “Error code 43 Mac”.
  4. Click Repair Disk perform a repair.
  5. Try to delete the files if “Error code 43 Mac” is fixed.
