Solution 1. Check the bootable device

“FreeBSD error 19” may appear when the bootable device could not run the image due to a missing file or a damaged bootable device. This could be caused by a FreeBSD ISO image that is damaged, a problem during the creation of the bootable device. You might want to check the guide below.

DVD

  1. Make sure you are using DVD-R.
  2. Make sure the DVD is in good condition.
  3. Make sure your optical disk drive (DVD  drive) is in good condition.
  4. Make sure the operating system has no malicious software that could interrupt the creation process.
  5. When creating a FreeBSD bootable DVD, burn the FreeBSD image at a slow speed.

USB

  1. Make sure the USB is in good condition and has enough space.
  2. Make sure the USB port is in good condition.
  3. Make sure the operating system has no malicious software that could interrupt the creation process.
  4. Make sure to format the USB device before extracting the image into the USB.
  5. You may want to use a software that created USB bootable device such as Rufus, see link here for Rufus.
