How to fix Generac PwrCell error codes?

When an error code is generated, it is because the Generac PWRCELL has detected an issue with its ability to function properly. The error code will provide information on what the problem is, and why it happened. In some cases, the error code can be resolved by the user. However, in other cases, it may be necessary to contact Generac customer service for assistance.

1. Check the power cell for any damage

  1. Verify that the power cord is properly plugged into an electrical outlet and into the back of the generator.
  2. Verify that the battery is properly connected to the power cord.
  3. Verify that the generator is turned on.
  4. Verify that the generator’s fuel gauge is reading correctly.
  5. If the power cell is damaged, the generator will generate an error code. Try to determine the error code by reading the generator’s user manual. If you can’t determine the error code, contact your local service center.

2. If the power cell is damaged, replace it with a new one

  1. Turn off the power to the generator.
  2. Remove the cover on the front of the generator.
  3. Remove the screws that hold the power cord in place.
  4. Disconnect the power cord from the generator.
  5. Remove the power cord from the wall outlet.
  6. Remove the screws that hold the cover on the power cell.
  7. Remove the power cell.
  8. Replace the power cell with a new one.
  9. Replace the cover on the power cell.
  10. Connect the power cord to the wall outlet and to the generator.

3. Check the power cell connection and make sure it is tight

  1. Verify power cord is plugged into an outlet and into the Generac power supply.
  2. Verify the power switch is in the on position.
  3. Verify the power cord is securely fastened to the power supply.
  4. Check the voltage at the power supply with a voltmeter.
  5. Check the continuity between the power cord plug and the power supply.
  6. If the power cord is not connecting properly, replace the power cord.

4. Check the power cell voltage and make sure it is within the specified range

Check the power cell voltage by entering the following command into the command prompt: get-dcvol Cell The get-dcvol Cell command will return the power cell voltage for the specified power cell. If the power cell voltage is outside of the specified range, then the generac pwrcell error codes will be set. To fix the generac pwrcell error codes, the power cell voltage must be within the specified range. To get the power cell voltage for the specified power cell, enter the following command: get-dcvol Cell -PowerCell The get-dcvol Cell -PowerCell command will return the power cell voltage for the specified power cell. To fix the generac pwrcell error codes, the power cell voltage must be within the specified range.
